A masjid built by the community it serves
FKRNA is a place of worship, a school and a support network in one building. The doors open before Fajr and stay open past Isha, and almost everything in between is run by people who live on these streets.
Nobody is asked for membership at the door. If you have come to pray, to learn, or because a difficult month has arrived, you are already in the right place.
Established 1996
The congregation began by gathering in borrowed rooms, moving between spaces as more families arrived. The masjid standing here today was raised with donations given in small amounts, by hundreds of households, over many years.
That history still shapes how the masjid is run. Decisions are taken openly, the accounts are shared with the congregation, and almost every programme on the calendar started as a need somebody brought to the Imam.
How we work
Worship comes first
Everything the masjid does begins with salah. The prayer hall is open every day of the year, and the calendar is built around the adhan rather than the other way round.
Education for every age
Quran, tajweed and fiqh classes for children, and study circles for adults who are starting later in life. Nobody is turned away for asking a basic question.
Care before questions
Financial aid and the clinic are open to anyone who needs them, member or not. Requests are handled quietly and stay between the family and the office.
Open accounts
Where the money comes from and where it goes is shared with the congregation. Every fund on the donate page reports back to the people who gave to it.
We are here for the person who walks in for the first time and does not know where to stand.
Come for a prayer, sit at the back, and leave when you like. If you would rather someone met you at the door, send us a note first and we will be expecting you.
